Maxim-um Disappointment

post-164.jpgOh Maxim, what were you thinking?

Maxim recently published a list of the “unsexiest” women, and its members, with one notable exception, seem to demonstrate that the editorial staff are a bunch of close-minded idiots with ridiculous beliefs about what constitutes “sexy” in a woman.

What prompted this rant is the magazine listing Sarah Jessica Parker at the top of the list. Anyone who doesn’t think that Sarah Jessica Parker is sexy is clearly on crack. Even if you don’t like her turn as Carrie Bradshaw on Sex in the City, the woman is smart, beautiful, and a talented performer on both stage and screen. I’ve been fortunate enough to see her perform live and the woman lights up the stage. Charismatic, fascinating to Read the rest of this entry »

Roller Girls

post-96.jpgI have a dirty little secret.

I love roller derby.

I first discovered roller derby through reality television – the show “Rollergirls” focused on one of the derby leagues in Austin, TX and, despite my inherent loathing of reality television, was too much fun to resist. Rollergirls was an amazing combination of sexy, silly, and sportsmanship. Plus, for the first time, I actually began to understand how the sport of roller derby works.

I was amazed. This was a sporting event that I could actually enjoy watching. For that matter, it was a sporting event that I could, at least, theoretically, imagine myself participating. I loved the combination of speed, violence, and theater. It had a strong appeal. Plus, and I would be lying if I didn’t say that this was a major factor in my new Read the rest of this entry »

Love Letters

post-93.jpg

Dear Darestars Diva,

There’s this sex blogger whose posts I read every day and I think she’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen. I have no idea what she looks like, but her words are such an enormous turn on that I tend to picture her as a younger, sassier Catherine Zeta Jones. Recently I realized that she lives in the same city that I do! How can I meet her and be one of the amazing sexual adventures that she talks about in her blog?

Sincerely,
Looking for a Life Sentence

Dear Story Struck,

You’re so sweet! I hate to break it to you, but I don’t look like Catherine Zeta Jones at all, more like Jessica Rabbit. Just kidding! I know you’re not talking about me!. As for how to meet a sex blogger, Read the rest of this entry »

Tuesday News Nudes Roundup

post-94.jpgHuzzah for Naked Time!
I never thought I’d say this, but Christina Aguilera is a sensible sort. In order to keep things spicy with her husband, they spend a day each week together naked. I’m a big fan of naked time. As you’ll see elsewhere on the Darestars site, there are tons of fun things that you can do when you’re naked, even excluding the obvious. Still though, one thing about this article gave me pause. Cooking. You should not cook naked. Naked cooking is dangerous. Naked cooking put a friend of mine in the hospital. If you’re willing to compromise about using props (jump ropes! get your minds out of the gutter!) for your other activities, when you turn on the stove you should at least put on an apron and some shoes.

Speaking of Naked Time…
Kate Hudson is also a fan of running around the house scantily clad. Read the rest of this entry »

Razor Wit

post-80.jpg

Dear Darestars Diva,I’ve met this insanely hot girl, but she doesn’t shave her legs. She’s smart, she’s sexy, and she’s beautiful, but the first time I saw her naked I was so weirded out by her leg hair that I came up with an excuse to go home. Isn’t shaving your legs just something you’re supposed to do if you’re a girl? I’m still attracted to her, I just kind of wish she’d keep her pants on.

Sincerely,

Furreaked out

Dear Furreaked,

I’m sorry, but I can’t take your side on this issue. Leg hair is no big deal. It’s normal; everyone has it. Shaved legs didn’t even become popular in this country until early in the 20th century when a shaving company created a series of advertisements that suggested shaved legs and underarms should be a new trend. It worked and their sales soared, but it left a lot of American women spending way too much time and money worrying about their body hair in a way that the women of the rest of the world don’t. I applaud your girlfriend for Read the rest of this entry »
