South Carolina legislatures recently killed a bill that would have made it a crime for exotic dancers and their customers to come within six feet of each other. Although I think they made the right decision, just imagine how funny it would have been if the law had passed! Police detectives would end up sitting in strip clubs with tape measures making certain that men stay far enough away. Object of Your Attention

A lot of people think that stripping and similar forms of sensual exhibitionism objectify women. But what if that act of erotic expression is the woman’s choice?

To objectify something is to depersonalize it. Stripping, in general, probably does depersonalize women. It is, most often, not something an audience watches, because they care about who the performer is. However, just because a woman is being objectified by her audience, or by her viewers, does not mean that stripping is a bad thing. Objectification is not a moral judgment.
