Oh Maxim, what were you thinking?

Maxim recently published a list of the “unsexiest” women, and its members, with one notable exception, seem to demonstrate that the editorial staff are a bunch of close-minded idiots with ridiculous beliefs about what constitutes “sexy” in a woman.

What prompted this rant is the magazine listing Sarah Jessica Parker at the top of the list. Anyone who doesn’t think that Sarah Jessica Parker is sexy is clearly on crack. Coming to your TV, sometime soon, naked news – at least if you live in New Zealand. A local alternative channel has decided to take an idea from a Canadian website and start broadcasting an evening news show hosted by naked female anchors. I have to say that the idea doesn’t do much for me. I like looking at naked women as much as the next person, but the combination of nudity and the day’s top news stories isn’t exactly an appealing one. This may seem like a stupid thing to write to you about, but I hate my eyebrows. I have a unibrow, and they’re just sort of sitting like caterpillars on my face, and I have no idea what to do about them. People make snide comments, and I’ve kept them the way they are partially to show that I don’t care about what other people say, but also because I have no idea how to make them better. The other day I got into an argument with someone, because I said “I think that the syndicated version of Sex in the City is kind of boring without the sex,” and the woman I was talking to said “Oh, you’re arguing the man’s side.”

Since when is having an interest in sex solely the province of men? I know that much of society would like to believe that its daughters are good little girls who only put up with the indignities of sexual intercourse to please their husbands and produce the next generation, but why? Personally, I’d rather think that if my daughter was having sex that she was doing it because she liked it, and wanted to be having sex, rather than to think she was simply giving in out of some misplaced notion of social obligation.

This Article Makes My Head Hurt.
I can’t decide what bothers me most about this article. It could be the fact that I almost titled this piece “Jenna Jameson is one smart cookie.” Even though she was talking about a PETA ad, I can’t help but agree with her that seeing Charlize Theron naked would be an excellent thing.
