It angers me to see the media glorifying stars behaving badly. I think that it encourages them to keep acting like idiots, and possibly even inspires them to new heights. Shakira has the courage of her convictions, for which one cannot help but applaud her. According to The Sun, the singer turned down a role in the film version of “Love in the Time of Cholera,” because it would have required her to take off her clothing. She was worried her parents wouldn’t approve. It takes a lot of guts to turn down a big role for something like this, and I admire Shakira for sticking up for what she believes.
